HawkMtn Labs has been providing independent testing services, analyzing coal, solid fuels and combustion residues, for two decades. The testing laboratories have had recent, significant up-grades in the facilities and analytical instrumentation. These improvements have allowed us to offer rapid turnaround 24 to 48 hr and keep our pricing competitive. A brief description of some of the testing capabilities is as follows.
- Our coal preparation laboratory has the ability to process 60 to 80 samples daily.
- The facilities can also handle large gross samples of 1000 to 2000 lbs.
- Complete fuel combustion characterization for solid fuels.
- Mineral and trace element analysis of Coals and Ash.
- Hazardous characterization of solid wastes to EPA RCRA specifications.

About Us
HawkMtn Labs is a second generation family owned business offering independent testing services of coal and environmental samples. We provide these services to power plant operations and construction companies such as Bechtel Corp., Constellation Energy, Wheelabrator Energy, just to name a few. HawkMtn Labs started providing these services in 1985 with the local construction of the Westwood waste coal fluidized bed boiler which we provided start-up services for. Since then we have participated in several turn key start-up projects with the Bechtel Corp. and Foster Wheeler Power Corp. in the Americas and abroad. HawkMtn Labs has tested many types of solid fuel and maintains an ISO registration from NQA. HawkMtn Labs also conducts environmental testing allowing for diversity in our available
resource and experience to conduct intricate analysis of coal combustion characteristics and trace elements associated with coal and combustion residues. The laboratory director, Jeff Gittleman is actively involved with ASTM to review existing standards and in the development of new methods for the analysis of coal and coal residues.
